Today, for example, Renault Espace includes several advanced driver assistance systems.
- adaptive cruise control and active emergency braking to reassure the driver
- several driver alert systems such as lane departure warning, overspeed warning with traffic sign recognition and blind spot monitoring.
- and even more technologies to make life easier for drivers: front, rear and side parking sensors, reversing camera, automatic high-beam/low-beam switching, head-up display, assisted parking brake, hill-start assist and hands-free access with the motorized tailgate.
And that’s not all. With the Easy Park Assist system, Espace can (almost) park itself. After helping the driver to identify a parking space, by using its sensors to measure the space available, the system then takes over the steering during parking manoeuvres. The Easy Park Assist system manages reverse parking as well as parking at an angle. In all cases, the driver controls braking and acceleration during manoeuvres.
