The location is heavy with symbolism. Alpine unveiled the new Alpine A110 Rally at the Mont-Blanc Rallye Morzine. From 5 to 7 September, public and drivers had the chance to experience a competition car developed specifically for their discipline.
Alpine A110: efficient and versatile in every situation
Sport is in the genes of Alpine and the A110, the very embodiment of its renaissance. Its centre-mounted rear engine (ideal for weight distribution and drive), aluminium chassis and low weight form a perfect basis for versions specific to the different types of competition.
On the high road or in town, on the track or rallying, Alpine’s aim is to offer a single “pleasure” vehicle suitable for each and every driver, be they a committed race driver or someone who just loves a sportier car. Whatever the version, the A110 is distinguished by its versatility and efficiency.
The A110 Rally has efficiency in spades. It’s pure racing car, powered by a 4-cylinder turbo-charged engine that delivers over 300 bhp. It contains lots of modifications designed for rallying: revised engine torque curve, 3-way shock absorbers with hydraulic tappets, Brembo brakes, integral roll-bar and SABELT bucket seats with six-point harnesses.
The Alpine A110 Rally has kicked off its development programme. Talented drivers are taking part in tune-up trials and the definition of the basic settings. The aim of these different contributions is to make the Alpine A110 Rally as standard as possible, so that it can adapt itself to each driver’s profile, even before they make their own adjustments. Such is the philosophy at Alpine.
FIA R-GT certification for the A110 Rally is under way at the Fédération Française du Sport Automobile (FFSA).
A new winning collaboration between Alpine and Signatech
Winner in three of the last four 24-hour Le Mans races and FIA World Endurance Champion in the LMP2 category in 2016 and again in 2018-2019. The collaboration between Signatech and Alpine is covered in glory. So the partnership between Alpine and Signatech was a no-brainer for the design and development of the competition Alpine A110. And how promising everything looks! Three radical specific versions have already become part of the Customer Competition Programme: Cup, GT4 and now the Rally.
With the support of Signatech, pro and amateur drivers alike can now get behind the wheel of the A110 and take part in a variety of motor sports competitions: the Alpine ELF Europa Cup, GT4 and Rallying.
Rallying, a historic discipline for Alpine
It’s no exaggeration to say that rallying is part of Alpine’s DNA.
Alpine has always offered its customers production and competition vehicles. The brand has inspired both amateur and professional drivers to take up the sport. It has become an emblem for motor sports following its many rally victories, winning the prestigious World Rally Championship Manufacturers’ title in 1973.
The unveiling of the A110 Rally at the Mont-Blanc Rallye Morzine was full of symbolism. No better way to give Alpine every chance of perpetuating its record of victories in a sport in which it is a past master!
