FAST - Future-Ready At-Scale-Transformation
“With the FAST program, we’re making changes across the company to fully address the challenges of our industry and the mobility of the future.” This announcement by Thierry Bolloré, CEO of Groupe Renault, heralds an ambitious program of transformation encompassing the next three years.

All the industry leaders are talking about autonomous cars, connected cars and shared mobility. In recent years, Groupe Renault has illustrated its leadership in these areas through its sales results with ZOE, Europe’s best-selling electric vehicle, through concept cars like the EZ trilogy and new urban services such as Moov’in Paris by Renault, Marcel, etc.

This fundamental trend is set to take on a whole new dimension in the future, creating major new opportunities for the group. At the heart of this transformation is an ecosystem based on advanced technologies, also undergoing constant change, and the vision of a smoother, intuitive and more enjoyable customer experience.

To respond to these disruptive changes, Groupe Renault is launching FAST, not to make its cars go faster (!) but to adopt a more agile and proactive approach to their design, in keeping with market trends.

FAST stands for “Future-Ready At-Scale-Transformation”. It is an ambitious transformation programme encompassing all areas of the company. It illustrates the group’s ability to undertake a transformation, drawing upon the 120 years of innovation built into its genes, and a clear vision of its role in the cities of the future, particularly smart cities.

In short, the four letters of FAST refer to four essential points:

  • “Start-up” style operation, applied to the entire company, an original approach for a group of this size. By 2021, Groupe Renault will be fully transformed.
  • Even greater emphasis on efforts to satisfy customers and meet their expectations, today and in the future
  • New, more agile methods (new skills with the associated training) to deliver breakthrough products and services (digital acceleration, shorter product development cycles, etc.)
  • A transformation program at the heart of the goals set out in the strategic Drive the Future plan for 2022.
