“A pioneer in 2006 and a leader in 2017, Groupe Renault has played a key role in popularizing the electric vehicle. That is why today, in partnership with the City of Paris, we are pleased to take our contribution to the next level, with the development of electric mobility for all,”
declared Thierry Bolloré, Chief Operating Officer of Groupe Renault, during the press conference organized at Paris City Hall on July 4th, 2018.

This exchange of expertise between the capital and the European leader in electric vehicles will result in short-, medium- and long-term actions for the development of electric vehicle offerings centered around three pillars.

Groupe Renault’s contribution will thus begin in September 2018 with the gradual roll-out of several business proposals for electric mobility in Paris. This will lead to the development and expansion of Marcel, its own ride-hailing service, as well as to the addition of a self-service electric vehicle carsharing offering, accessible 24/7 without stations and over extended periods for longer trips.

Groupe Renault continues its strong commitment to eco-friendly shared mobility.

A pioneer in electric mobility, Groupe Renault offers a range of four zero-emissions vehicles, including passenger and light commercial models, its most notable being ZOE, the category’s number one seller in France. The carmaker, which announced on June 14th, 2018 its investment of more than one billion euros” in France for the development and manufacturing of electric vehicles from now until 2022, already manages electric vehicle carsharing services throughout Europe. Under the name Zity, and in partnership with Ferrovial, the group offers a free-floating carsharing service in the streets of Madrid, with a fleet of 500 ZOEs. In Denmark, Renault supplied 450 ZOEs for the Green Mobility project which also offers a carsharing service.

Backed by ample experience in mobility services and connected vehicles, Groupe Renault became involved in the m2i project, bringing to the table its expertise to deliver fair and efficient mobility to the Île-de-France region.

In addition to partnerships, the company is also investing in carsharing through Renault Mobility, an app which enables passengers to hail a self-service vehicle any time of day, and which makes it possible for businesses to share vehicles in their fleet to optimize their use rate. But that’s not all! This app includes a rental service with passenger and light commercial vehicles to transport furniture from an IKEA store to customers’ homes.

Finally, at the Geneva Motor Show this past March, Renault unveiled its vision for the future of shared urban mobility, with EZ-GO, its robo-vehicle concept. Designed for the city, Renault EZ-GO is both a vehicle and a service. In keeping with the “Easy Life” approach at the heart of the brand’s DNA, it offers an all-new mobility experience that is comfortable and convenient.

This provides some insight on what you can expect to see launched this September in the French capital.
