The All-new Renault Kiger show car, revealed by Fabrice Cambolive (SVP, Chairman of AMI-Pacific Region – Groupe Renault) and Laurens van den Acker (EVP, Corporate Design – Groupe Renault), anticipates a new small SUV to be launched in the Indian market, scheduled for release in early 2021. It combines dynamism, agility and design to appeal to a growing market.

Groupe Renault presents its show car event ‘Kiger’, which anticipates a new small SUV that will be launched in India in early 2021. Coming alongside Duster, Kwid and the recently Triber, "this revolutionary model will change the game in its segment, while integrating perfectly with the existing Renault range on the Indian market," explains Fabrice Cambolive, SVP, Chairman of AMI-Pacific region of Groupe Renault.

The Renault Kiger show car is the result of a cooperation between design studios in Paris, Chennai and Mumbai. As with Triber, Renault once again shows its ability to innovate by proposing a striking design for a new vehicle. The Kiger show car is a small SUV with an eye-catching design and a hybrid personality, destined for the urban jungle as well as the great outdoors. For Laurens van den Acker, EVP, Corporate Design of Groupe Renault, "the creative association of French and Indian designers was the best way to meet the needs and expectations of a clientele increasingly fond of style, dynamism and difference, while affirming Renault's DNA".

A dynamic silhouette...

In India, more than 650,000 customers already place their trust in Renault and the Renault Kiger show car shows that the brand intends to continue to win over customers with its attractive models.

With 25 vehicles per 1,000 inhabitants, the second most populous country in the world has a strong growth rate. Thanks to the Duster, Kwid and Triber models, Renault is the first European brand in India. Renault Kiger, this compact SUV less than 4 metres, different from those we see on the roads today, will strengthen our presence and help us conquer more and more customers.
Fabrice Cambolive SVP, Chairman of AMI-Pacific Region – Groupe Renault

A veritable ball of energy and fun, the Kiger show car stands out with a silhouette that is both sharp at the front and muscular at the rear. With its sloping rear window, roof-integrated spoiler and mirrors shaped like airplane wings, Kiger show car has a very airy appearance. This show car also draws its energy from its sporty attributes, including the double central exhaust system, the double exhaust extractor and honeycomb patterns all around the vehicle.

Kiger show car also has a touch of outdoor style illustrated by its 19-inch wheels with heavily grooved tires, roof rails, front and rear skid plates and 210 mm ground clearance.

Finally, Kiger show car owns double-stage LED spotlights, similar to those that appeared on the All-new Kwid last year, and green turn signals. At the rear, the double "C" headlights sign its membership to the Renault brand and form a light signature that prefigures that of the production model.

…with a new color

The show car has a new body color called ‘Aurora Borealis’. This color is magnified by mysterious and changing reflections of blue and violet, depending on the angle of vision and light. This is an additional seductive feature for Kiger show cars that also reflects the vehicle's inner strength.

Offering a colourful car is very important for us to bring joy on the road and my colour material team is very proud of ‘Aurore Borealis’  this new colourspecially created in India for Kiger.
Laurens van den Acker – EVP, Corporate Design – Groupe Renault

A new engine in the program

Based on the Alliance's CMF modular platform, which is behind Triber's success, the small Renault Kiger SUV will be unveiled in early 2021. It will be powered by an all-new turbo gasoline engine, synonymous with both power and efficiency.
