Retromobile: Renault celebrates 50 years of R8 Gordini, 30 years of Espace and 100 years of "taxi de la Marne"
Renault has a lot of candles to blow at Salon Retromobile 2014, taking place February 5-9 février in Paris. The Renault 8 Gordini, French motor sport icon, thanks to its affordable price and its beautiful French blue color and white stripes, is celebrating its 50th birthday, while Espace turns 30 and France remembers the "taxis de la Marne", most of which were Renault Type AG1.
Visitors will get a chance to see Renault’s 700 sq. metre stand in Hall 1 (1G64 stand) featuring:
A recently-restored Renault Type AG1 taxi.
Five legendary Renault 8 Gordinis, including a Type 1134, prepared by Renault’s competition department.
The Espace saga, told through eight display vehicles from the original concept right up to the current-day model, with a special space reserved for the extraordinary Espace F1.
