Such a nice weekend at the Goodwood Festival of Speed

by Groupe Renault

The famous Goodwood Festival of Speed (Sussex, United Kingdom) openend its gates to the public between June 29 and July 1st. This institution gathered over 250,000 motor sport and automobile fans.  Obviously, it was an unmissable event for Renault (and Dacia for the first time). Mythical vehicles were on display while the Alpine A110-50 concept was given a triumphant welcome and New Clio R.S. made a surprise guest appearance.

A couple of months ahead of its official reveal, New Renault Clio R.S. made a brief but high-impact appearance at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. The camouflaged test car raced in the famous hill-climb event with Chief Operating Officer Carlos Tavares at the wheel.

Spectators could not stop taking photos of the beautiful Alpine A110-50 concept car, both seducing and incredibly powerful since it is equipped with the chassis and engine of Mégane Trophy. By the way, have you seen the amazing video featuring Alpine A110-50, its elder sister and the rally pilot Jean Ragnotti?  If not, it's time to catch up right now!

Amazing, don't you think?

The famous RS01 or "Yellow teapot" was the first F1 car to be powered by a turbocharged engine. Still classy as hell!

1962-2012 : the Alpine A110 is celebrating its 50th anniversary. For this reason, it was the star of the Renault stand.

A trio of Renault marvels: Viva Grand Sport, Type K and our beloved Twizy!

Don't you think ZOE and Renault 5 have something in common? Well,  interestingly enough this Renault 5 is electric. The prototype was produced in 1974. With only two seats, it is fitted with a UNELEC motor and 8 traction batteries each of 6 volts.

Dacia has a habit of popping up where it is least expected. And last weekend was no exception, since the brand was an official sponsor of the Goodwood Festival of Speed. It profited from the opportunity to draw attention to its fast-approaching official launch in the United Kingdom in January 2013. Get ready, here comes Duster!
