On January 5, the competitors in the 2013 Dakar Rally will set off on an 8,000 km trail across Peru, Argentina and Chile. Keen to take part in the fifth edition held in South America, Renault Argentina has entered two teams behind the wheel of a Renault Duster. Beware fellows, the course includes dizzying peaks, desert expanses and rocky roads...
The grueling rally raid remains as popular as ever. Competing in this year’s event are 196 motorcycles, 40 quad bikes, 75 trucks and no fewer than 161 cars. A hell of a convoy, among which our two Renault Dusters will endeavor to stand out. Team 333 consists of Emiliano Spataro (driver) and Benjamin Lozada (co-driver) and Team 372 consists of Francisco José Garcia (driver) and Javier Mauricio Malano (co-driver).
This exceptional event naturally called for an exceptional vehicle. The “Duster Rally” was prepared especially for the race and is equipped with a 306 HP 3.5-liter V6 engine.
Naturally we’ll keep you updated on how the Renault Duster Team is doing. The cars are expected to cross the finish line in Santiago on January 20.
