On 10 December 2016 Alpine tweeted a major news item, informing enthusiasts that an advance payment of €2,000 could secure them one of the first 1,955 models forming the Première Édition of the forthcoming Alpine production model. The initial release of 1,955 units is obviously a nod to the year of birth of this emblematic French racing brand.
At the same time, the Alpine website released some hitherto unpublished information:
Alpine Première Édition would boast exclusive features. Pricing and technical specifications would be released in the first quarter of 2017. The VAT-inclusive price would be somewhere between €55,000 and €60,000. Acceleration from standstill to 100 km/h would be 4.5 seconds. And the first happy customers would be taking delivery toward the end of 2017.
