There’s no doubt about it: Alpine’s off to a great start in 2016. Alpine Vision, the last show car before the future production vehicle, made its world première appearance just a month ago, and now the racing prototypes are being unveiled to the international media in the run-up to the 2016 season.
The team debuted its distinctive yellow-gold and black colours in an event hosted in Docklands, Melbourne, in a highly unique way. The R.S.16 was first seen by the guests as it literally surfed the waves at Boat Harbour Park beach just outside Sydney !
Yesterday, December 3rd, Chairman & CEO Carlos Ghosn of Groupe Renault announced his decision that Renault will return to Formula 1 with its own team for 2016 season.
Having won the teams’ title in the inaugural FIA Formula E Championship, Renault e.dams returns for its second campaign in 2015/16 with one goal: to secure both the teams’ and drivers’ titles, celebrating their renewed partnership with Renault who, this year, have supplied the all-new electric powertrain that has been designed exclusively for the team by Renault Sport F1.
The outcome of the FIA Formula E Championship was decided at the final round last weekend 27-28 June in London. Sam Bird (Virgin Racing) won the last ePrix of the season, whilst the all-electric series’ inaugural titles were won by Nelson Piquet (Nextev TCR) and e.dams-Renault. Carlos Ghosn, CEO of Renault Group, was present at the event and we took this great opportunity to ask him a couple of questions about the link between Renault and Formula E.

As guest members of ZE ZOE TEAM in the sixth Monte-Carlo ZENN Rally (for Zero Emission No Noise), we could hardly have hoped for a better finish. There were four ZOEs in the first four places. And as well as claiming a podium position, our little team of bloggers (from AUTOcult.fr and Automobile-Propre.com) also won the low consumption trophy in this FIA international championship event!
In this year's Monte Carlo ZENN Rally, ZE ZOE TEAM has entered four Renault ZOE cars, manned by a surprising mix of real specialists in regularity and eco-driving rallies along with some absolute beginners. The variety is working well: interaction among the four teams is great, and the results are there, with Renault ZOE taking the first three places in the overall ranking after the first leg in the 2015 Monte Carlo ZENN Rally.
