The Renault MEGANE has been named winner of the 2016 Goldene Lenkrad (Golden Steering Wheel) in the small and compact car category. The Golden Steering Wheel awards are adjudged by 21 European publications of the Axel Springer Verlag media group which notably includes Auto Express in the United Kingdom, Auto Plus in France and Auto Bild in Germany. The Renault MEGANE has also scooped the ‘Best Family Car’ prize in the Scottish Car of the Year 2016 awards, while the Renault KADJAR was singled out as the ‘Best Crossover’.
To develop the Chinese version of Kadjar, the project engineering teams had to adjust to the local market, as well as the specific demands of customers who are particularly demanding about the cars they buy.
Carlos Ghosn, Groupe Renault Chairman and CEO, opened Renault's new Chinese plant on 1 February 2016.
Without a doubt, 2015 is a pivotal year for Renault in China. Renault Captur made a much-applauded début appearance at the Beijing Motor Show just six months ago, and its big brother Kadjar is now set to wow the Chinese public at the 13th Guangzhou Motor Show.
For the second day's tests the Renault staff gave us a chance to try out our Kadjar round a circuit in the Bardenas Desert. The rocky and sandy trails through this natural park offered a spectacular setting for us to familiarize ourselves with the less conventional capacities of Renault's latest model.
Following on from its début appearance on Chinese soil at the Beijing Motor Show last year, Renault's Captur crossover is now making a big impression at the 2015 Shanghai Motor Show, judging from the interest it is getting from the hoards of photographers there. The SUV segment is the fastest-growing on the Chinese motor market, with growth topping 30% according to estimates published by CAAM, the Chinese Association of Automotive Manufacturers. Read on for a closer look at the phenomenon.
