Brazil: an increased capacity for the Curitiba plant

On March 20, following eight weeks of considerable renovation, Renault has inaugurated the extension of its Curitiba plant. This  major production site for the South American market see its annual production capacity increase from 280.000 to 380.000 vehicles per year. Bear in mind that Brazil in now the 2nd market for Renault with 241.594 car sold in 2012 for a market share of 6.6%.

A fifth vehicle for India: here comes Renault Scala

Renault is broadening its range of vehicles available in India with Scala, the fifth model launched in this country in less than 18 months. This premium small saloon is manufactured at the Chennai plant. After the sedan Fluence, the crossover Koleos, the hatchback Pulse and the SUV Duster, the launch of Scala means Renault is now represented in all segments of the Indian car market, with products that meet the needs of many different customers.

Renault in China, many assets and ambitious projects

"Renault already sells cars in China, but only in limited numbers. If Renault is to play a more important role in China, then it needs to produce locally," declared Carlos Ghosn on January 9, 2012 at the Detroit Motor Show. Breaking into the Chinese market represents a major capital outlay for the company and demands a strong product plan and local manufacturing capacity in order to corner market share at a profit.
