Ten years after the last edition at the Magny-Cours circuit, the French Grand Prix is back in the F1 calendar and making its return to the Circuit Paul-Ricard at Le Castellet on June 24, 2018. Competition has always been in the DNA of the company, which is celebrating its 120th birthday this year.

Groupe Renault, official partner of the French Grand Prix and a long-standing national representative in Formula 1, will be particularly active on the Circuit Paul-Ricard on June 24. More than twenty years after the last lap of the Le Castellet circuit, the team with the diamond logo will line up with its drivers Carlos Sainz and Nico Hülkenberg behind the wheel of the R.S.18.

Throughout the weekend, Renault will be putting on numerous events for thousands of spectators in the Fan Zone, and providing a brand stand. Representing the only French automobile manufacturer active in Formula 1, the yellow stand, decked out in the team's colors, will motivate the drivers and be a beacon for TV viewers worldwide.

Renault: 120 years old, and over 40 years in Formula 1.

“Motor racing is an important element in the history of our brand, and we’re delighted to be able to celebrate our 120th birthday with fans of motor racing at the Circuit Paul-Ricard!”  said Bastien Schupp, Vice President Global Marketing Communications - Groupe Renault.

As early as 1898, Louis Renault saw the need to get involved in motorsport to develop the brand’s image. Eight years later, in 1906, the Renault AK, driven by Hungarian Ferenc Szisz, won the first French Grand Prix. So began Renault’s involvement in high-level motor racing. Present in Formula 1 since 1977, Renault has racked up the wins: 35 as the manufacturer, 175 as the engine supplier, and two world titles. In the history of the French Grand Prix, the 1996 race at Magny-Cours is very memorable: as the engine supplier, Renault achieved a magnificent quadruple with the Williams-Renault of Damon Hill and Jacques Villeneuve and the Benetton-Renault of Jean Alesi and Gerhard Berger.
