The millionth Kangoo came off the assembly lines at the Maubeuge (MCA) plant in France at the start of this year and it already left for Japan, which is a real land of conquest for a model that accounts for a third of the brand’s sales there.
Only the leisure activity version is available in Japan, but the vehicle has been a constant crowd-pleaser since 1998 And the Japanese do love their Kangoos!
Every year, Japanese Kangoo buyers get together at the foot of Mount Fuji for the Kangoo Jamboree.
This year the event brought together 1,800 Renault cars, including 1,100 Kangoos, 4,000 people to celebrate this key model for Renault in Japan.
While numerous activities were once again arranged to entertain participants of all ages, Renault unveiled a “Kangoo Paysage”, a limited edition for Japan only. The red and green colours were reminiscent of the French landscape and inspired by the traditional houses in Pays Basque. Renault customers are very much enjoying this interpretation of French lifestyle and Kangoo is becoming a central icon for it in Japan.
