Madrid, Paris... and now Nice! Thanks to its position as the leader in electric vehicles in Europe and its proven expertise in new mobility services, Renault is the first provider to benefit from the new “car-sharing” label in the city of Nice.

Christian Estrosi, President of the Métropole Nice Côte d'Azur and Philippe Buros, Groupe Renault's Sales Director France, announce that Renault Mobility has become the first operator to receive the "car-sharing" label in Nice.

As a sustainable mobility provider and no longer just a car manufacturer, Groupe Renault covers a vast range of shared and eco-responsible solutions. It relies on its range - the most comprehensive on the market - of 100% electric vehicles, but also on its position as a business leader in Europe and of course on the know-how of its subsidiaries, such as RCI Bank & Services and Renault Mobility. This forward-looking positioning enabled it to be the first to offer an alternative car-sharing solution in Paris, following the discontinuation of the Autolib’ service. Since fall 2018, as part of the Moov'in.Paris service operated in collaboration with ADA, a fleet of 500 Renault ZOE and Renault Twizy vehicles has been available to all (Parisians, Ile-de-France residents, professionals, tourists). This service operates on the “free-floating” principle, allowing users to park their vehicles wherever they want in a defined geographical area.

Pioneer in Paris and in Nice

In Nice, a new car-sharing label will take over for the Autobleue service, which comes to an end on December 31, 2018. Starting in January 2019, Groupe Renault will be the first recipient of this label, thus fully assuming its position as a pioneer in this area. Users will benefit from access to a fleet of 57 latest generation Renault ZOE vehicles via the Renault Mobility app. More than 350 charging stations will be deployed by the city of Nice for this carsharing label.

Renault Mobility is a service through which individuals can rent a car via self-service 24/7, and businesses can share some of their fleet vehicles, in order to optimize their utilization rate. The immediate availability of the vehicles and the choice of pickup location - from a dedicated vehicle lot, public parking lot or any other option - will offer customers great service flexibility. It has been used as the basis for IKEA’s carsharing service since the spring of 2018 to allow customers to transport furniture purchased in-store to their homes.
