It only took us going all the way to Rio to meet the man behind the "Earth from Above" book. The photographer, planet-lover, and now filmmaker Yann Arthus-Bertrand, shared a few thoughts with us, on the Film Festival his Foundation, GoodPlanet, is organising here at Rio+20, but also on the electric car he's driving...a Fluence Z.E.!

From June 16-21st, GoodPlanet is inviting Rio+20 guests and locals at the Odeon Cinema, Pc Floriano, 7 – Centro Rio de Janeiro for its film festival.

Over these 6 days, people get the chance to discover exceptional films (all picked by YAB and his team) on sustainable development and participate in discussions with committed directors and personnalities, in the company of the largest NGOs and stakeholders.

The Festival's main objectives are to raise awareness and extend the debates that are at the heart of the Rio+20 Summit : green economy, development, governance, oceans...

A photo exhibition, "Earth from Above" is also organized in the square facing the theatre, exhibiting YAB's most famous work. It gives visitors the opportunity to extend their experience and knowledge on sustainable development.

Six themes are discussed by the photographer throughout the week: urban sustainability, water, forests and wildlife, ocean, climage change, millenium development goals...1 theme per night. On June 19, a special event was organised with the world premiere of movie Planet Ocean, with the film crew and Prince Albert of Monaco in attendance.

We caught up with Yann, who told us he loved his Fluence Z.E. "Renault is on to something with the electric vehicle.  I think it's great and I think it'll meet a wide success" were his wise words.
