Protecting your personal data is central to Renault’s values

One of the company's primary objectives is to ensure your confidence in Renault's activities and products. Such confidence is acquired and maintained by strictly respecting your rights, in particular your privacy.
In the course of its activities, the Groupe Renault collects, uses and stores some of your personal data, i.e. information that makes it possible to identify you.
Your data is confidential. The Groupe Renault is committed to protecting your data in compliance with applicable regulations. As such, it has established procedures and tools to ensure the protection of your privacy and guarantee control of your personal data.

Among these tools and procedures, Renault has:

  • appointed a Personal Data Protection Officer, who is responsible for ensuring that your personal data is protected throughout the Groupe;
  • established a Charter on the use of personal data and a training program to train its employees in the rules to be followed when processing your personal data;
  • implemented procedures allowing you to exercise the rights provided under regulations enabling you to control your personal data.

Using your personal data in a manner that respects your privacy

Renault uses your personal data for the following purposes in particular:

  • ensuring the proper performance of your contracts relating to its products and services;
  • sending you customised advertising messages, after obtaining your consent where required by regulation;
  • managing relations with its customers and/or prospects;
  • providing services via connected vehicles;
  • monitoring the quality and improvement of its products and services;
  • conducting its research and development activities;
  • complying with its legal obligations (e.g. vehicle safety regulations).

 

The measures Renault takes to protect your personal data

Renault strives to comply with all obligations relating to the protection of personal data to which the company is subject.

1. Renault respects your Personal Data

Renault, as the data controller, collects and processes your personal data in compliance with the principles set out in the applicable regulations.
Renault undertakes to process only the data necessary to carry out its activities and to do so for a limited period of time in light of the needs for which the data was collected and its legal obligations. Renault provides you with clear, transparent and regular information regarding the use of your personal data, by means of the appropriate communication method. Renault also informs you of your data protection rights.
When the processing of your personal data requires the involvement of partners or service providers, Renault will only provide them with the personal data necessary for the processing and will ensure, by means of a contract, that such partners or service providers protect your personal data in accordance with applicable regulations. If your data is transferred outside the European Union, Renault will comply with applicable regulations and implement appropriate safeguards to ensure the security and protection of such data.

2. Renault ensures the security and quality of your personal data

Renault works to ensure that all your personal data is secure for the duration of its storage, in particular against any unauthorised use or disclosure. To this end, Renault implements physical and logical security measures tailored to the sensitivity of the personal data and the processing carried out and which comply with professional best practices and the standards imposed on it.
In addition, Renault contractually requires its partners and service providers to observe an equivalent level of security.
Renault also ensures that only its employees who are required to use your data for their missions are authorized to access it. Renault also ensures that its employees maintain the confidentiality of your data.
If despite all the measures that we have put in place to ensure the security of your personal data, you notice that your personal data has been exposed to a security incident, you can inform us at any time at this address: list.databreach@renault.com. We will then take the necessary measures to put an end to said incident.
Renault is also legally obliged to verify that your data is accurate, complete and updated as necessary.

3. Renault allows you to exercise your rights

You have the right to access your personal data held by Renault and to correct such data if necessary. You also have the right to request that all or part of the processing of your personal data by the Groupe be discontinued. You also have the right to request the portability of your personal data, i.e. to have your personal data made available in a structured and standard format.
Renault will take all reasonable measures to satisfy your request so as to ensure that your rights are effectively implemented. However, certain legal provisions, particularly those related to security concerns, may restrict these rights.

This policy may be updated. You are therefore invited to review it regularly.
More detailed information regarding the processing of your personal data (in particular the procedure to follow to exercise your rights) is provided to you at the time that your personal data is collected, on each of the Groupe's websites (Information on the protection of your personal data), mobile application or contractual documentation supplied to you.
