Renault Group

The beginning

Established in 1898 by brothers Louis, Marcel, and Fernand Renault, the company saw great success with its “voiturette,” receiving twelve orders for it that same year. Strengthened by its initial victory, the company continued innovating to make its clients’ daily lives easier through need-specific services and vehicles designed to be true companions on the road. Renault played a significant role in World War I, exemplified most notably through its “Taxis de la Marne”. The company was nationalized after World War II before becoming private once more in the 1990s.
