Born in 1973, Jean-Benoit Devauges holds postgraduate degrees International Business Law from Université Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne (DESS) and EU Law from Université Paris II Pantheon-Assas (DEA).
He started his career in an international commercial arbitration firm before joining the Legal Department of Renault in 2000 as a corporate lawyer, supporting the Group’s cross-border growth strategy in Asia and the Middle-East.
In 2006, he joins the global Legal Department of Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. in Tokyo, Japan, as an international business lawyer, acting as counsel on various acquisition, joint-venture and complex commercial transactions.
In 2008, he is assigned to Nissan’s North American headquarters’ Legal Department based in Nashville, Tennessee, joining the corporate transactions group to advise on purchasing and distressed M&A transactions in a time of global financial crisis.
In 2011, he is appointed Deputy General Counsel of Renault, assuming responsibility for the M&A and Commercial Transactions Department.
In February 2018, Jean-Benoit Devauges is appointed as Group General Counsel for Renault.
On April 1st, 2019, Jean-Benoit Devauges is appointed Senior Vice President of Legal & Public Affairs. He is a member of Groupe Renault Management Committee.
