The "Ecoles de production" offer young people between the ages of 15 and 18 qualifying training based on the teaching method of "do it to learn".
Students learn a job by making products or offering services, responding to real customer orders.
There are 34 production schools in France, that prepare 930 students for state vocational diplomas (CAP, BAC pro or professional certifications).
The Renault Foundation supports these schools, which enable young people who have dropped out of school to train for jobs in which recruitment is difficult, particularly in the automotive sector.
In concrete terms, the Foundation provides training equipment (milling machines, workbenches, exhaust gas extractors, etc.) to two "Ecole de production" in Lille and Lens in the automotive section, in the Groupe Renault’s employment catchment areas. This new equipment facilitates the daily work of the students and their teachers in the workshops.
