Rules of Clio’s 30th anniversary contest: ARE YOU PART OF THE #CLIOGENERATION


ARTICLE 1 - Organization

RENAULT SAS ("the Organizer"), a simplified joint-stock company with a capital of 533,941,113 euros, registered with the Nanterre Trade and Companies Register under No. B 780 129 987, whose registered office is at 13-15 Quai Alphonse Le Gallo in Boulogne-Billancourt, 92100 - France, is organizing a game with no obligation to purchase entitled "ARE YOU PART OF THE #CLIOGENERATION" from 27/08/2020 to 10/09/2020 inclusive.

ARTICLE 2 - Principle of the game

The participants will have to dive into their memories and tell their most beautiful anecdotes with CLIO in photo or video.

To take part in the game, players must share their photos or videos on FACEBOOK, INSTAGRAM or TWITTER by using the hashtag #CLIOGENERATION and the mention @Groupe_Renault as well as account identification.

Between 14/09/2020 and 20/09/2020, 9 of the most beautiful shared stories will be selected and relayed on Groupe Renault’s social networks (Instagram / Facebook / Twitter).

The winners will be announced between 14/09/2020 and 20/09/2020 by private message.

ARTICLE 3 – Participation

2.1 This Game is open to all adults, excluding the staff of the organizing companies and their related companies as well as their families (spouses, ascendants, descendants, brothers and sisters).

Minors may participate subject to the authorization of one of their parents or legal representatives. Proof may be requested when the Organizer awards the prize.

Winners will have to prove their age before receiving their prize. The Organizer reserves the right to select an alternative winner if the initial winner is unable to provide sufficient proof of age or authorization to play.

2.2 This Game is promoted in particular by: pending website link landing page Facebook + Landing page Renault Group Corporate Website 

2.3 A maximum of one entry per person is possible for the entire duration of the game. It is strictly forbidden to play with several accounts as well as to play from another person's account.

2.4 Participation in the Game implies the express and unreserved acceptance of these rules, in all their stipulations, as well as the laws and regulations applicable to games and contests in force in France. Game entries will be void if they are incomplete, erroneous, counterfeit or made in contravention of these rules.

2.5 Any participant shall refrain from publishing :

  • any photograph of a pornographic, paedophile, racist or xenophobic nature;
  • any photograph that is defamatory or likely to harm in any way whatsoever the image, private life, honour, reputation and/or consideration of any natural or legal person.
  • any photograph inciting crime, hatred, violence, suicide
  • any photograph accompanied by (and/or containing) disparaging or defamatory remarks
  • any photograph that does not respect public order
  • any photography that is contrary to public decency,
  • and more generally, any photograph that does not comply with the regulations and legislation in force.

This list is not exhaustive. The Organiser expressly reserves the right to eliminate without justification within the framework of the competition any photograph considered in whole or in part as not complying with the conditions of validity set out above or likely to harm its image. The Organiser also reserves the right to take legal action against any offenders.

ARTICLE 4 - Allocations

The following equipment is involved: a miniature Renault CLIO

The winners will have to reply to the private message sent by the organizing company indicating their win to confirm acceptance of the prize won. Any winner who has not replied to this message will be considered to have definitively renounced his or her prize. The first participant designated in the 2nd round will be contacted.

ARTICLE 5 - Receipt of the prize won

The persons designated as winners will be contacted by the Organizer between 14/09/2020 and 20/09/2020 by private message on social networks. If the information communicated by a person designated as a winner is incomplete and/or does not allow him/her to be informed of his/her win, he/she will lose his/her status as a winner and will not be able to make any claim.

The winner may not claim the cash equivalent of the prize won or request its exchange for other goods or services.

ARTICLE 6 - Winner's image rights

The winner authorizes the Organizer, under the conditions described below, to use the videos and photographs in which he or she appears in the context of this contest and repost them on his or her social networks.

  • the reproduction of his or her image, surname, first name and city of residence by any means whatsoever and on any present or future media and/or any editing that may be made of it, it being specified that this authorization carries the right, for the Organizer, to make any addition, deletion, modification or dubbing to the initial fixing of his or her image that will be deemed useful in the spirit of the shots; and
  • the exploitation of his image and/or the aforementioned montage as well as his surname, first name, city of residence within the framework of the event, throughout the world, in all necessary formats and on present or future media (paper, graphic, video, photographic, digital, electronic, etc.) for the purposes of institutional promotion or internal or external communication and in particular for any distribution on the Organiser's Website.
  • the use of its image and/or the aforementioned montage, on any present or future media (paper, graphic, video, photographic, digital, electronic, etc.) for the purposes of institutional promotion or internal or external communication on social networks such as Facebook, Twitter or Instagram.

ARTICLE 7 - Authorization

The participants authorize the Organizer to carry out all necessary checks concerning the identity and domicile of the participants. Any false declaration shall automatically result in the elimination of the participant.

ARTICLE 8 - Modification of the rules

The Organizer reserves the right to cancel, postpone, extend, shorten or modify this operation in whole or in part if circumstances oblige it to do so without having to justify this decision and without its liability being engaged in any way as a result.

Each modification will be the subject of an announcement on the Site and will be filed as these rules with the bailiff cited in Article 9 below.

ARTICLE 9: Intellectual Property

In accordance with the laws governing literary and artistic property rights, the reproduction and representation of all or part of the elements making up the game are strictly prohibited. The brands mentioned are trademarks registered by their respective owners.

All trademarks, logos and other distinctive signs reproduced on the various communication media dedicated to the game, are or are likely to be the exclusive property of their owners and are or are likely to be protected. Any unauthorized reproduction of these trademarks, logos and signs constitutes or is likely to constitute an infringement liable to penal sanctions. Any use of the elements of the game, whatever the mode, is subject to compliance with the rules of intellectual property.

The participants guarantee that their photo or video is original, unpublished, not awarded in another competition and that it does not infringe any intellectual property rights attached to it. The participants also undertake to have received the express authorization of any person appearing in their photo or video or that of a legal representative in the case of a minor. If the photo or video reproduces the creation of a third party, the participant must have obtained their authorization.

ARTICLE 10 - Protection of personal data

Your personal data is processed by Renault SAS and the members of its sales network, as joint data controllers.

Your data is used to manage your participation in the game, to report on their activities, to conduct research and development activities, to improve products and services in particular by using advanced analysis, to manage your participation in product/trend studies and to send you personalized commercial offers that may be of interest to you.

You have a right of access to your personal data. In addition, you may request the correction or deletion of your personal data. You also have the right to object to the processing of your personal data, without giving any reason in the case of commercial prospecting (including by post and telephone), justifying a particular situation in other cases, or to request a limitation of the said processing.

You may request communication of your personal data in a structured and standard format. You also have the right to issue instructions on the disposal of your personal data after your death.

ARTICLE 11 - Liability

11.1 It is expressly pointed out that the Internet is not a secure network. The Organizer cannot therefore be held liable for contamination by possible viruses or intrusion by a third party into the system of the Game participants' terminal and declines all responsibility for the consequences of participants' connection to the network via the Site.

In particular, the Organizer cannot be held liable for any damage caused to participants, their computer equipment and the data stored therein, as well as for any consequences that may arise from this on their personal or professional activity.

11.2 The Organizer may not be held liable in the event of malfunctions of the Internet network, in particular due to malicious acts, which would prevent the smooth running of the Game.

The Organizer may also not be held liable in the event that one or more participants are unable to connect to the Site or to play the Game due to any problem or technical defect related in particular to network congestion.

The Organizer may cancel all or part of the Game if it appears that fraud has occurred in any form whatsoever, including computer fraud in connection with participation in the Game or the determination of winners. It reserves, in this case, the right not to award prizes to fraudsters and/or to prosecute the perpetrators of such fraud before the competent courts.

If, as a result of a failure of the computer systems, a number of people greater than the above-mentioned prizes are designated as winners, the Organizer’s liability will be limited to the prizes at stake for all participants. Should such an event occur, the Organizer reserves the right to declare the draw null and void and to organize a new operation at a later date.

11.3 Furthermore, the Organizer cannot be held liable for any problems with delivery or loss of postal or electronic mail (in particular with regard to the delivery of prizes).

The Organizer cannot be held responsible for the malfunctioning of the Internet network, nor for delays, loss or damage resulting from postal and management services.

11.4 Finally, the Organizer cannot be held liable for any incidents that may occur due to the use of the prize awarded.

ARTICLE 12- Applicable law and jurisdiction

12.1 These rules are subject to French law. Participants are therefore subject to French regulations applicable to the Games.

12.2 In the event of a dispute or complaint, for any reason whatsoever, requests must be sent to the Organizer within 2 months after the close of the Game (postmark as proof).

12.3 Any dispute arising in connection with this Game which cannot be settled amicably will be submitted to the competent court of law.
